Hallie Allen, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Idaho. My educational background consists of a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southern Utah University (2012), and a Master’s degree in Counselor Education from Northwest Nazarene University (2018). My internship was spent at Kuna Counseling Center (Jan 2017 – Jun 2018), and with The Department of Health and Welfare in the Children’s Mental Health Department (Jan 2018 – May 2018). Raising six children and supporting a marriage of 23 years has given me valuable life experience. I am compassionate by nature. I enjoy people, meeting people, and I especially enjoy the opportunity to help them live a better life.
THEORETICAL APPROACH: My counseling approach is a client-centered approach based on the work of Carl Rogers, which includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy . My specialty is working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, anxiety, addiction and depression as well as those simply having a difficult time dealing with the everyday stressors of life. I utilize play therapy strategies as well as talk therapy. My style is to involve, collaborate with, and unify parents as they are the primary support and the primary relationships for the child/adolescent.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE: Children, teenage girls, women, couples and families
